11/22/07- Congratulations to Zander Lichacz, 2007 recipient of the Barbra Meegan Young Rider Award. The award is given to a young rider who has shown primarily in VHSA associate shows and is in their first year of showing, and takes into account points earned, sportsmanship, and performance at the year end show. Sugi Dewan, Zander's trainer, nominated him for the award after working with him through the year. He attributes his success to the help of his trainer and his pony, Ocean Blue, who is owned by the Shiflet family. We look forward to the pair joining us on the "A" circuit next year in the large children's ponies!

Have a look! 7/9/07- Greetings again. The webmaster apologizes for the delay in updating the website, but we hope to see everyone at the next show on July 14th. Our showing riders have had a great spring and early summer at many local and "A" rated shows. Rarely has Breckenridge been left without an extra string for the ribbons come Sunday, with many blues and championships at several shows in Zone 3. We plan to attend Rose Mount's summer show and then head to the Lexington National Horse Show. Pictures from Deep Run and Raleigh are on the way, and we hope to share some of our horses, riders, and the support crew who make it all happen! 4/6/07- Hello! The Winter show season was a great success for the Breckenridge riders, who earned ribbons from the Lexington and Raleigh winter shows, along with our local winter series. The final points are on the main page. Good luck next weekend, and we hope to see you there! 1/17/07- Added some Photos from the VBHSA Banquet. Click Here. 12/10/06- Everyone had a great time at the Breckenridge Christmas party! Thanks to the Jenison family for opening their home to host it. Some of the Breckenridge Kids:
12/3/06- Winter prize list added to the home page and staff page updated. Coming Soon- Information on the Steve Wall clinic, which will be held at Breckenridge on April 28 and 29. 11/23/06- A belated congratulations to all of the champions and other participants in the Breckenridge Challenge series. Sadly, some camera malfunctions kept many of the winning shots from coming out. The haul up to Lexington in the storm for the VHSA Associate Finals was well worth it for all of the Breckenridge riders who chose to do so. Arion came home with a Clean sweep in section B of the greens, while Word Play received a third over fences and won the hack for section A. Leigh Anne Kline and Wish Me Luck brought home two blues in the Medium Pony Hunters, and Queen's Curtsey and Samantha Whitley won the hack in Junior Hunters Section A. 10/30/06- Added the BRM Challenge Series points to the website. Good luck to all competitors this weekend! 10/16/06- Apologies for the late results, but the VBHSA cooler show was nevertheless a success for the group from Breckenridge. Word Play and Monogram were champion and reserve, respectively in the Open Hunter division, Arion was champion in the Green Hunters, all ridden by Chris Wynne. Maryellen Kroll and Timberland received champion in the Adult Amateur Hunters. Taylor Shearin won champion in Junior Hunters on Arion, and Samantha Whitley took Reserve. Green Pony Hunter was another Breckenridge sweep of the tricolors, with Caroline Buckley winning Champion on Blue Crush, and Leigh Anne Kline receiving Reserve on Capstone's Little Rascal. Benlea Neptune and Holly Shearin were reserve champions in the pony hunters, and Elizabeth McNamara and Monogram were champion in the Junior Pleasure Horse division. Avery Powell Dewan received Reserve Champion in the Very Beginner Pleasure division, and Alexander Lichacz took reserve in the Walk/Trot Equitation Younger. Alex Buckley brought in a Blue for Equitation on the flat. From the 3' hunters to the walk trot classes, it was a huge success, and many thanks to all of the people who worked so hard to keep the show running smoothly. 9/28/06- The show standings page was updated with current VBHSA, VHSA, and USEF points. Good luck to all cooler show participants! The weatherman's calling for 74 and partly cloudy-perfect weather and much better than the 100+ degrees of last year. 9/13/06- A (belated) congratulations to Sarah Lahne and Simpatico, who was ridden by Chris Wynne to reserve champion at the International Hunter Futurity in Warrenton. The VBHSA cooler show will be hosted at Breckenridge on September 30th, and we look forward to seeing everyone there! 9/2/06- After the torrential downpours we're pleased to report that Breckenridge has made it through high and (relatively) dry. We're lucky, though- Twelve more feet down the road and our entrance would be under water! The About Us, Staff, and Boarding Pages have been updated, and now contain the most current information on all the services offered at Breckenridge. 8/12/06- What a great weekend for Breckenridge! Our Children's medal finals riders all did well, even with the challenging course. Elizabeth McNamara earned reserve champion in Large Children's Pony, and Lauren Jenison also earned Reserve Champion in Virginia Breds. Leigh Anne Kline also earned a reserve Championship in the VHSA Pony Medal Finals. Sarah Lahne helped start the week off with a second place in Modified Childrens Hunter. Alex Buckley earned a second over fences in the 14 and Under Children's hunter, and Taylor Shearin earned a fourth place in the same division. Alex Jenison put in a great round in the three foot equitation derby, but a missed lead knocked her to a still respectable seventh place. Ali Shiflet earned several seconds in the large pony model and over fences classes, and a first in the VHSA pony equitation. An up and coming green horse, Seymour, won a second place over fences at his very first A show, taking it all in stride. Holly Shearin put in a great trip on Neppie for another red ribbon on our board. 8/10/2006- Arion won champion in the three foot pre-green hunters at Lexington. We look forward to many more wins with this special horse. 8/9/2006- Congratulations to Taylor Shearin and Arion, who was ridden by Chris Wynne to a first and second in the three for pre-greens at the Lexington National today! Congratulations also to Word Play who was ridden by Chris in Pre Greens, and received a third in his warm up! 8/1/2006- Welcome to our new and redesigned website! We plan to update viewers on shows, web updates, and general news about the goings on at Breckenridge here. A quick overview of the new design: The lovely plaid you see in the background is actually the Breckenridge cooler, which is done by integrity. Please speak with Peggy Nelson if you are interested in ordering one. The sales page will be kept current with all of the fine hunters and prospects available, most with video available. We hope this will help buyers and make the process more convenient for all involved parties. The boarder's page takes place of the old "Breckenridge Kids" page. Since the painting of the lobby, all the beautiful photos are homeless, so we hope to create a virtual "lobby wall" for everyone to enjoy. Show Standings are posted from VBHSA, VHSA, USEF, and certain other organizations. The directions have been re-vamped, now allowing you to input your home address and have mapquest spit out a customized sheet. We hope you enjoy all the new features, and look forward to any feedback! |
